A friend recently brought up the Tinder trope of girls only matching guys over six feet. I'm about that height, so I said my requirement is "taller than me, unless in a wheelchair." It was just a silly little joke, but felt liberating at the same time.

Had another coming out as a Dev yesterday to a friend of mine. Zero shame. Just good feelings. I love it!

today I feel like an ambassador: I talked with another male PWD who was new at a German dating site and he asked me "can you tell me something about that "strange women" who are sexually attracted by disabilities, isn´t that humiliating"? I explained a few things which I´ve learned from my PD friends here and the general board and he seemed to rethink his prejudices at the end of our conversation and thanked me I hope I´ve "saved him" for an interested dev out there...

Never was into Twitter but I like this.
A few weeks ago I got a connection request on LinkedIn from someone who works at the company I am at (company has like 150 employees across different buildings). I never spoke with him personally only was in one or two large meetings with virtually. Clicked on his profile and BAM wearing shorts and a prosthetic was visible. INVITE ACCEPTED. In my head I thought maybe him and my bf can be friends and I get to hangout with two amputees....

Almost had to call the Fire Department, my EZLock bolt got stuck in the sliding door track at a house I'll be moving into.

There were about 4-5 days I had a bad fever and a bunch of gunk in my lungs. And now I’ve got slightly less gunk in my lungs and no fever haha. I’m just glad this didn’t send me to the hospital, vaccines doing their work I guess haha

I fell down a little rabbit hole on Instagram after finding a couple very cute Brazilian PWDs... Now I'm getting ads in Portuguese. 🇧🇷

In the same vein... I came across a really cool concept: an artist using body paint to visualize sensation loss. It's still in the works, and they seem to be interested in finding additional participants near Omaha. I look forward to seeing the final series! http://instagr.am/p/CeMhbGLJPWu

If and only if Twitter was a safe space for devs and pwds to hang out, I'd probably tweet something along the lines of this: I have an eye for nature, beauty, aesthetics, and yes, hot (preferably single) dev and non-dev ladies.

TFW when you match with someone on a dating app, spend about half the day texting with them, they seem interested and even mention they’ve had crushes on disabled guys in the past, so you think they might be a dev. Then suddenly, right as you’re responding to a question from them, their profile and all their messages just disappear. Meaning they either blocked you, or their account was deleted.
I’m just gonna tell myself that they were actually a scammer whose account got reported/deleted right as I was talking with them. “I avoided a scammer” sounds much better than “I missed an opportunity” haha

I just don't get it. How come people behave that way on dating apps? How cowardly can a person be to just disappear that way? I don't get it. I just don't get it. Never have, never will - don't even want to. It really sucks. It´s gross and disgusting how "normal" that ghosting-behaviour seems to have become these days.

This happened a while ago, but something reminded me recently:
Three or four years ago, when I was even deeper in the dev closet and hadn't yet dared to register on PD, I was playing a game of charades with some friends and acquaintances. A good friend of mine had to act out a word and I almost immediately recognized that the word was "wheelchair". She wasn't doing a great job, but to my dev mind it seemed obvious right away. But I was still worried that I might be wrong (dev mind doing funny things or so) and that people would think I'm weird for thinking of a wheelchair - which was ridiculous and absurd, of course, but such is dev life. So I sat there and said nothing while all of my clueless friends tried to guess and couldn't get it, quietly thinking to myself "Oh, come on, are you serious? It's sooo obvious..." It was interesting to see how differently my dev mind worked from everyone else's.
