LOL......I look like THAT dude? I've been told Alice Cooper for years, and i've always been a little insulted, but this Bullard guy makes the Alice-similarity sound HOTT. AB - And you look delicious in BLACK!!! hehe I went to a Grateful Dead show years ago with a buddy who was total Deadhead. I never found them particularly great, but the crowd was more than more the price of ticket. Steely Dan tonight...lotta baby boomers reliving the 70s!! i think Alice Cooper is hot ( but you are hotter )

heyyyy people, i haven't signed on in long time...just wasn't feelin it, but thought i'd check out the scene again. I turned 60 in August, and it feels different, yet the same all in one. Oh, it's easy to say age is just a number, but fact is things do change in life, and it's supposed to, really. Being a quad for 38 years is a badge of honor and a bitch...both go together! I've satisfied most of my bucket list, now just cruising...not trying to push much. I grad USF years ago, worked for 17 yrs, wrote/recored and played music, wrote a few books, bought my house and rocked a few chicas. I'm on survival mode na...this place seems to cater to the young, but don't forget, you'll be old, too...or, DIE!!! lol

Hey peeps, long time since I signed on, and really, I haven't read any threads yet. Sometimes I just like to blab abot life in a chair, or how it's going for me at the moment; not necessarily chair-related. Tonight is election-ight, and I'm def part on the BLUE side, hoping like hell young people aren't as stupid as i was when i was a young-buck. The world is changing before our eyes; i'm an old motherfucker, but young-minded, and still goodlookig bitch. lol. I'm really loving how this world is smaller, easier when it comes to ordering food. Ubereats is one great innovation. I'm waiting on "Patricia" to deliver my Boston Market dinner right now. I've stopped driving as much; fb has been incredible to me, saving me money, making friends and meeting chicas. fb has allowed people to express their MINDS...personality without beng judged first by a fucking wheelchair. I don't go out nearly as much, but it, again, saves me money, and it's led to more relationships with friends. Weird, i know! I'm making it pretty good these days; two roommates that pay on time, eating good stuff, a few chick relationships...ohhh sure, it could be better with Miss Right, but it never happened for me. Who knows why...i'm sure t's my fault.
Meet you at the beach for cajun scallops mmmmmmmm.

Some of you know I take Care Ride vans to things sometimes, even though I can drive. It's cheap n easy and my driving isn't as good as it used to be. Well, one of the things I enjoy is building a conversation with the driver. Maybe it's weird, but I'm curious about people's stories; everyone has a story. Sometimes it's inspirational, or just middle of the road, but I'm just curious about people. These conversations start simple, and I lubricate the talk with remarking on things, and eventually it strikes a chord, opening the gate of a personal story - usually!
Today's driver was from Kentucky; middle-aged guy with a slight accent. Probably watered down after living in Florida for many years. I didn't get his name, but the conversation seemed to flow well, and he was talking. We were talking weather, and I told him about how I hated the cold so much after my wreck that landed me in a chair. Being a quadriplegic usually fucks up your temperature regulation, or maybe how your body/mind perceives it. My driver told me he had a brother that also ended up paralyzed from a wreck. I questioned him further, and come to find out his brother's car crash was similar to mine. He and his buddies were drunk, flying down the road, eventually hitting a tree at a high rate of speed. Three in the car were killed, and the driver's brother was thrown from the car into a snow bank. Emergency responders couldn't get a pulse and thought he was dead like the others. A few hours later after the hurst arrived to pick up the dead they realized he had started breathing. He was paralyzed at a level on spine near my own injury and he went on to live. Well, my driver proceeded to tell me more about his brother, and I have to tell you here and now this guy was a live-wire. Many crazy accidents followed, including another terrible car wreck and being hit by a car in his chair. In the end, it was colon cancer that got him.
The ride came to my destination, and I thanked my driver for the story. In a way his brother touched me by letting me reflect on my own 2nd life that started with a terrible wreck.

I know, right? There's some amazing stories out there, and I enjoy them, even when they are tragic.

For weeks my shoulders have been hurting, and it's driving me crazy. Hopefully it'll go away, like in the past. You know, it's fuckin pain not to be able to use your hands well, and at times it's very clear you can't do simple shit, like screw a wire on the TV, or pick up something that looks so easy. But hey, it's the life of a quad my level...you do lean to get used to it, but there's never a time when you stop being frustrated with shit. One thing that helps is having a few friends in this life, even fb friends that I've never met. I can name a few instances where a fb friend ends up coming to my house to fix something. That's really amazing to me. Today, some guy I've never met msg me and told me to call him...he was in the area, and he could help me hook up this new TV i just bought for my living room - mainly for football games on Sunday. This guy has many mutual friends with me, mostly all in the music scene since he's a fantastic photographer, and so he knows a lot about me, despite us never meeting. And for payment? He wanted one of my books. It worked out great, and he said he'd like to grab lunch someday. I know people near my age that hate fb; think it's stupid. They're stuck in the old days, and they want to world to go backwards. Crazy to me.
On a different note, I'm really loving the delivery services that have exploded in popularity. I drive a lot less, and I save money on gas...not to mention, less trouble.
