It's a huge relieve to talk about it. I'm glad you found somebody to share with. I for myself decided it's best not to tell anybody. I just can't stand the weird questions of people not getting what it's all about. I told a wheeler while in a relation. He liked the idea at first, but held it against me when we were fighting. It makes you vulnerable.

Geeze, Ath... what asses. Devine, I don't know who you know... and I've said before that I've been very lucky in my friendships. (At least two are trained as counselors ... lol... I'm not sure if that's some universal comment on my craziness or not... ) But after they establish that it's a sexual thing and not because I'm such a nurturing, compassionate person we've been ok. Not that I'm pushing for you to do something you don't want to. It might be that the people you know are like Ath's workmates and it would be a bad idea. I just remember my apprehension. I'm glad you have here and us if you can't talk about it irl.

I think it's great to have some people in your life you can share it with. I myself have three friends who know about my 'devism' and I'm extremely glad about that.
But I will also say that I think we have to be careful when it comes to "outing" to everyone. There are people who I consider my friends, but still I would never tell them about being a dev, because they're just not open-minded enough when it comes to sexual 'abnormalities' (sorry, can't think of a better word at the moment). I don't see the benefit in telling people who will act like it's all fine but in their head will think that I'm sick or something.
In my opinion it's simply not necessary to tell EVERYONE to be a 'happy dev'. Why should we? There's nothing wrong with being private about your private stuff.

Yes, Cake. Totally. I have friends who don't know and whom I wouldn't tell too. Sorry if I didn't make that clear.
