Oh yes, one of my faves too. That scene where they're dancing and she takes off his shades, OMG, I watched that over and over. Those opaque contacts get me every time. If only they used them in Covert Affair too, Chris Gorham is cute but he sucks at playing blind.

Yeay! Another devo for blind guys! You're definitely not the only one here. You might want to join this group too: groups.yahoo.com/group/gfbg/It's much smaller than Paradevo, and gets a lot less traffic. But people do read it, if you post you will get responses. There was a flurry of activity over the summer when Covert Affairs was on TV. Go figure, ha ha. you know sumthin i thought i realy liked blind guys too .. untill one asked me out in a club and it wasnt for me.. something about it just wasnt .. but i think the fantasy of it is amazing. but not in reality for me

Oh, I love this board so much! It is just such a shame that I come here only in the active part of my devo sycle. Can't help it. But than I get to read so much new and interesting stuff, which is amazing. Anyway, as a for the preferences. I am more into partial legs' functioing. Crutches, canes, limps, braces, casts - always work like magic. Wheelchairs do good too, but not always with complete paras. Sometimes they work too, but not always. I am always amazed to feel and than hear from you guys about the delicate specifities of the matter. The movement, the gait itself for example, is a great turn on for me. So are such elements as "leaning on" something or someone, the need for support, unability to use the legs to cover distances. Even those words themselves turn me one. I also think, I am more a person of words, than a visualiser. If I hear or read someone talk about his walking difficulties it stimulates me. Sometimes blindness also gives be the rush, but I still can't figure out when and what exactly. And than again it is less intense. I know exactly what turns it on, but sometimes I am surprised to find it elsewhere, unexpectedly. So I am trying to learn not to get surprised It can strike like a lightning, out of the corner, and than I am taken aback, my joe dropped and I am thrown to a fantasy world, without being able to come back to reality. Completely irresistable. I could keel for this feeling. But than again it has to happen in the active devo timing. Like yesterday, for instance, I was drinking coffee with a friend, and than some guy walked in with an arm crutch. I immediately lost track of the conversation. But it made my day : )

Is it always about some type of disability though? What types of changes do you experience? Do you suddenly go completely "off" a certain disability and are never turned on by it again or does it seem to go in some sort of cycle?
Don't be afraid to be here. Welcome. It's a really good place to discover yourself.

@ Trinity: Yes, I agree! That scene in DD where Elektra says "not me" was so cool, it definitely felt like a devo moment for me. Ah, it makes me sad that it wasn't a better movie overall, because then there would have been sequels. On the other hand, I have heard rumors that there is going to be a completely new DD movie with a new actor and director at some point in the next few years.
@ Anais: Welcome back, it's so good to see you here again! Your posts are always interesting. You're right, sometimes it really is just like a bolt of lightning, totally unpredictable. And the cycles too, also unpredictable. I've stopped trying to understand why.

Oh and welcome to the board Lavly! I know, trying to sort out all the dev feelings can be scary, but we've all been there. A lot of us seem to go in cycles, I know I certainly do. Sometimes one thing, sometimes something else. It may be impossible to know why. Just enjoy it!

I was thinking about opening a new thread about cycles, but I finally decided to continue here. I’m in a hard dev phase of my life, drove by my very late awareness. All my instinctive dev feelings (like attraction and fantasies) are very strong at the moment, powered also by being here, rounded by smart devs and lots of hot wheelers. I had phases like this many times in the past, but I also had light-dev moments. My devness was going up and down…
I’m wondering if this cyclic devness is common or you think that it is just life that gets people up and down.

Trinity, you are definately not alone in the cyclic nature of your devness. Here is a link to a thread that you might find interesting regarding this subject: paradevo.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=devs&action=display&thread=1077My own dev feelings are cyclic, but also somewhat correlated to what is going on in my life at the time. Sometimes life's events push my dev feelings to the back burner at times, and I find as my life slows down, my dev feelings tend to come back full force.
