I totally relate to what you said about feeling like devo thoughts are your safe place, I feel the same way. I suppose in the most primitive part of the brain, pleasure and safety are intertwined. But again, I also think this is the result of years of habitual thinking--I usually think devo thoughts as I'm falling asleep at night, so it's also wrapped up with feeling warm and relaxed. Wow, this is amazing: After all these years on the board there are still surprises. I always thought I was the only one who would refer to her dev-feelings as my safe place. So fascinating that this apparently seems to be another thing many of us have in common! Devo-thoughts are my usual bedtime story, too. And especially when I have trouble relaxing, they always do the trick. I'm curious: Is is different for those of you who have a disabled partner? I would imagine that if you have your dream right beside you, there's no reason anymore for devo-daydreaming or that "safe place". - Am I right with this assumption?

Yeah Cake you are right, having a disabled partner there next to me pretty much consumes my dev thoughts and I don't really "devo-dream" about other guys. Its still the same even if he's not there next to me as a fall asleep but in the other room or even away I don't often have "devo-dreams" unless they are about him . However keeping up with new pictures and videos online is still something I do.

Hi Cake,
I can speak only for myself, but I must admit that I still have my dev-Thoughts, even if my wheeler-bf is right beside me!! Is that weird or what? I still dream about THE one gorgeous-looking wheeler who makes all my dreams come true. But of course it's still a fantasy because he is not coming. My bf does not know that I'm a dev. At least I hope so!!! AndI'm never ever going to tell him!!!! So I too have my safe place and my bedtime stories.

I'm curious: Is is different for those of you who have a disabled partner? I would imagine that if you have your dream right beside you, there's no reason anymore for devo-daydreaming or that "safe place". - Am I right with this assumption? When I was with a disabled partner, the fantasizing never went away. Since I am attracted to many different kinds of disability, sometimes I was thinking about a different one than what he had. Also, once that initial rush of infatuation passed and the relationship matured, I kind of got used to him and the devo thrill faded, or wasn't as intense as it had been. I think this is normal, once the relationship develops, there has to be something beyond physical attraction. Also people just get used to things, even good things. We get used to happiness, just like misery, at some point our emotions level out. It's impossible to stay at a heightened state of desire or intense happiness permanently. All of which is to say, I don't think any one person could satisfy my devo desires completely forever, because that is the nature of desire. There's always something more.

im glad to see other ppls prefences change as well ... cos i was worried that it was a sing that i got bored and therefor would never be able to setal. ( even though i loved a wheeler and knew that i would love him for life). but the hole witching thing would get to me cos i though that it ment that even if i found the wheeler of my dreams that i would be into other disabiltys when im with him ... blah ... so the dev thing would be this un reacheble gole. but what i like in a guy.... hmmm .... i like a guy that has his own sence of style. as in what ever subculture/ gonra he is in to be able to pull it off well. im in the art world and self image and how you prestent your self to the world matters to me. so yeah what ever he is into his got to be fly with it

Hi,
Im turned on by paras, and quads but I like scars too, I find it sexy. What drives me crazy physical is the combination black hair and blue eyes OMG its like the best thing in the world for me, but its difficult to find. Other thing is clean, I like guys that are clean and smell well thats important too.

i'm mostly exclusively into sci guys... paras and quads. paras were always my main 'thing' in the early years but i've definitely become an equal-opportunity dev. sometimes, either from boredom, lack of available stimuli, or just curiousity, i'll delve into 'researching' (lol) men with leg braces/crutches, amputations, other mobility impairments. it's definitely a mobility thing for me. blind guys don't really do much for me and hearing-impaired guys do nothing at all. i'll take a good limp over either of those two choices. ;D i was at a movie a few weeks ago and a good looking quadruple amputee guy in a power chair sat a few rows ahead of me... not usually my thing but his presence certainly got my mind wandering to the point where i missed most of the movie! lol

I love quad amputees. There are so few of them that seeing a guy like that out in public is very rare treat for me. Now you have me wondering specifics of his amputation levels ;D

This is my first post! I really love deaf guys that's why I've learned MSL (mexican sign language) but I'm turned on by quads and paras too. Physically I adore bearded men
