I wonder if men with SCI are more likely to get turned on by the idea of cuninlingus............ You better believe it! I love nothing more than to bring a woman to the brink of orgasm for as long as she can possibly take it, until finally making her come over and over again. The more pleasure she has, the more pleasure I have. Driving a woman crazy in bed makes me feel like a man again. When I first opened my eyes in the hospital after my accident and found out that I was paralyzed, my first thought wasn't "fuck, I'll never walk again!" It was "fuck, what woman will ever want to be with me again?" I'm not kidding, that was my very first thought. Did all you paralyzed guys have the same feelings? Or am I a particularly horny dude? - Sid

How important is an erection to female devs? The truth? ... It is not that important. Like the others have said, there are other ways to give pleasure, and I find them sometimes to be more satisfying than the guy "putting tab A into slot B". I'd rather get and give oral, or use fingers and an intense orgasm (like I usually get with oral), than have intercourse with a slow, or sometimes nonexistent orgasm.

OK, cancel all my torturous psychological ruminations about what makes me a devo and replace them with this delectable reason!
Sidney, you should get yourself a lapel button that says, "Disabled dudes do it better!"

i've been avoiding this thread but i reckon i'll toss in my 2 cents for what its worth...from the very first time back in my teens i really really enjoyed going down on a woman...kissing & giving oral are huge turns on for me,,,so much so that if a woman doesnt like to kiss and wont allow me go down its a deal-breaker....between native skill, concentrated practice, & enthusiasm i was able to get very good(as women have been telling me since my teens) at both,,,since i got my dis ive rarely had erectile difficulties until i developed this metabolic syndrome thing & high blood pressure,,,,drugs have those issues pretty much under control except when i drink to excess over a period of time,,,,i have levitra,,,as i think i said b4,,,as a confidence thing...anyway,,,none of the ladys i was with b4 the illnesses were controlled ever had any problem whether i could get it up or not...its MY desire to do the whole deed,,,maybe cuz ive never felt like a complete man since i got hurt,,,dunno,,,i try not to dwell on that...the pleasure i receive from the whole "above injury level" experience can be mind blowing if the woman knows what to do,,(dammiit why did ms hairbrush have to be a psycho!),,,id like to experience actual ejaculation some more so that i can recognize the way i felt leading up to that one time(another psycho but dayum the sex was,,,interesting)...at least if i can come (no pun intended) to recognize the feeling i can give her some warning *blush*...my first thought when i regained consciousness lying on the ground was that life as i knew it was over,,,,but those first few hours when i kinda left & returned a few times i had different thoughts each time but i guess sex just wasnt one of them,,,gotta give u your props on that sid....i didnt think about sex until after i was out of ICU & my then wife grabbed hold of the wood and discussed whether i could feel what she was doing,,,,she never got past the fact that i couldnt...,,,,,,,,note to chan....back in the day i learned that in most cases women your age didnt orgasm during sex altho they could experience them self-induced,,,but with time it became easier,,,especially with the right partner, under the right circumstances, and they learned how to make the circumstances right...

"the pleasure i receive from the whole "above injury level" experience can be mind blowing if the woman knows what to do"
MrJeff, would you care to give any helpful pointers?
And now we've got at least two of you who ought to be sporting lapel pins....

Chan: You have had an orgasm though, right? I wonder if men with SCI are more likely to get turned on by the idea of cuninlingus............ Certainly turns me on more now, the thought at least! Had little opportunity to tell if I'm any good at it? I bet I am!

Me a sweet 15yr old kid lying naked in a room full of strange people, newly paralysed: answered honestly, "Sex & Cigarettes", What else is important to a teenager! Nobody new how to react! I'm quite proud of that quip! With a hint of irony some 20yrs on "Sex & Cigarettes" are 2 important factors in my life! Sex being a problem I am yet to fully to solve & cigarettes my saviour from accident to this day! FUNNY OLD WORLD!

I thought the saddest scene in Murderball was when the newly injured guy asks his doctor about sex and gets a stumbling, awkward, embarassed non-answer. Why is there still so much unwillingness to talk about this even among doctors? Then that instructional video they showed, OMG, if I were a newly injured teenage guy that video would just make me want to kill myself. If they're going to use videos like that they should make them with a "porn" mindset, not "public service". Even as a devo, that video grossed me out, now that's just sad.

I had no sex education in the slightest after accident as I was deemed to young probably! Certainly left me in the dark about sex & on my own to find out! I hope things are better nowadays. I've never had the balls to ask a consultant due to inadequacy factor & difficult topic factor! Luckily I've had computer access and the ability to seek my own answers or should I re-phrase? "near answers"!

I learned about sex and SCI after about a week in the hospital. I asked several nurses about the mechanics and they refered me to a video that I think was made in 1960. I couldn't even finish watching it the people grossed me out so much, they were like 50yr old hippy types. Way to much hair on both of them. Then I was getting a shower by one of the nurses and started talking to her about sexuality and she asked if I know if I could get an erection or not. I told her I had no idea and she proceded to give me a hand job. After that we fooled around every once in awhile, but not full intercourse. However, it sure did break the ice and give me more confidence in what the future may hold.

Rollthundr, those devo nurses seem to be everywhere! I think I missed my calling.
Do we have any filmmakers on board? What about anyone with links to the Murderball producers? It looks as if a sensitive educational film on this topic is way overdue. Surely there are funding sources for education and disability. I've done grant writing for performance arts and wouldn't mind lending my skills in a collaboration.
Anybody have any ideas?

i did rehab in 1982 @ craig hospital in denver,,,the exit procedure included a fairly good covering of sexuality post-injury,,,,from the description, i saw the same video as thunder...we laffed our asses off...but the psych staff did a good job in both individual & group settings....what i want to know is where was one of those "freindly" pca's & nurses when i was there?...well, my weekday morning pca greeted me w/ a cup o' joe & a kiss on me lipperz every morning...but sheesh,,,,ida boffed her sooooo well.......
