Thanks for all the support ladies.
Today I decided to go in there and speak to the wheeler at my hotel. He was sitting at the edge of the pool with his lower legs and feet in the water, drink in hand and his chair next to the pool so he can get into it once he was ready to get out.
He's here for a week, he's from Belgium and with an able bodied friend who I saw today for the first time.
We spoke for about 10 minutes on a few different light topics and he seems like a nice guy. It's just a pity we're from different countries as I doubt we'll see each other again once we leave the hotel. He is of a similar age, although he's 8 years older which isn't too bad.
It was really great to chat to him, I hope he enjoyed it as much as I did.

That's awesome tanya good for you! It's always worthwhile to have a fun conversation even if it doesn't lead to anything more. And it makes it easier to say hi to the next person.

Today's the final day of my holiday and my wheeler friend is nowhere to be seen today around the pool. I'm so sad I thought I'd get one more chance to chat and say goodbye. 😪

Hi everyone, i have a small story of somewhat success. I saw a cute PWD guy who i was very interested in one night when supporting a friend with some school events. He was part of another group but we technically had known people in common since... well... same college and stuff, but nothing was there for us to really chat since he was not directly in my circle of friends. We looked at each other some times in a funny way and exchanged some words when a pet i was taking care of (one of my friends dog) approached him and tried to bite his crutch. He laughed it off and said it has happened before with this dog and that i didnt have to worry.
When i got home i got super mega FBI and checked all my friends and college people intagrams i knew to try and find him, I saw he was in one of the students associations so it was quite easy to locate him. I followed him and he did back. He then after like a week added me to his "best friends" list in his histories (something anyone knows means he is open to chat), i replied to one of his histories and we started to chat every now and then.
The other day i was walking back from class with some friends and he was just there waiting for a car to arrive for him or something and i was too scared to say hi or something, but when we walked in front of him he said hi first, then my friend and me replied back.
I guess there is potential here, at least for a nice friendship, maybe more. I am just happy everything worked and he clearly also seems comfortable and happy about meeting me too.

loveparas that's so exciting! It's the ideal situation since you know people in common and he clearly seems interested. Go for it! Be friendly, get to know him and see where it goes.

@dutchdev that sounds interesting. So how is the disability sporting center set up? Is it top notch accessible everywhere?

Just got back from hiking in Colorado, where I spent a couple of nights in Denver. Not sure if it's due to it being a very accessible city, lots of public transportation or other factors, but in 2 days I saw at least 5 people in wheelchairs. I also saw a woman having a photo shoot of her in a walking assisting robot thing - which was itself very cool and sexy. Her wheelchair was close by, which was also pretty amazing, sleek in black carbon fiber. A pity the photo shoot wasn't of a guy though! No chance to strike up a conversation with anhy of the wheelers! Maybe next time.

That is so weird though not the first time I've heard that about a small inaccessible area and then nothing in the big accessible areas. The had a big wheelchair sports thing in my tiny town few years ago and no accessibility hardly at all. Who planned that? !!!

Finally! Last weekend I wanted some Chipotle. So I had to drive 90 minutes to get there cause of course we don’t have a Chipotle in my small town. Anyway, I get out of the car and right there sitting out front. Thought I was in heaven! Made my day

Hey everyone, I've come here to revive this thread with a new story.
First I'll add some context: I just came back to my parents town after finishing this year of college for holidays, we decided to go to the mall since we had lots of things to buy. My mom wanted some new planters for the garden, my dad wanted books from Christmas, I wanted some groceries for dinner. We used the entire afternoon to walk around the mall and enjoy the day.
The encounter: When we finished loading the car with the other "buys" we decided to go to buy all the "cold" groceries that would have gotten spoiled if we bought them first. When walking to the supermarket side of the mall we passed over the front entrance wing of the mall and thats when I saw a young (20s like me) guy in a wheelchair. He was very casually dressed with dark long sweatpants and a black t, his chair was very new and very "expensive looking" it was one of those very sleek modern ones with fancy colored tubes (his were white and had lots of cool white accents around a black chair and the white parts were extremely clean and shiny like a new chair would) and a no handle low backrest. He seemed very comfortable and fast at maneuvering it so I assume it's not a very recent injury, just a new upgraded chair. He was alone wheeling around the entrance part of the mall looking kinda lost. He had a very cool "i know what I am doing" look but also got very shy every time i locked eyes with him. I must say I never had the chance to be very direct or even less talk to him since my parents were very busy running to the shops and well, they barely feel comfortable about me liking guys to the point that I don't even talk about AB guys with them much... (I came out many years ago they just never felt comfortable about the subject, they only see me once a year so we just avoid the topic).
When we got to the supermarket I said the basic "i have to go to the bathroom I'll be right back" to try and get to meet him but he was gone when I walked back again to that spot. I was honestly doing very good with my dev feelings lately, I am about to start dating an AB guy I met in college and I am feeling great with him, but now I just can't stop thinking about this mall boy...
I guess I just need to give it a few days rest. I wanted to write it here since I really have no one to talk to about this. Generally I geek out about crushes with my girlfriend but I just feel awkward about this one, I feel kinda alone about it.
PS: sorry if this text is kinda rambly and messy lol, I just wrote it all in a rush.
