The thing I find the most odd is that devs, at least as far as I can tell, are not a very large portion of the population. So for there to be pretenders whose main goal is to attract (or mindf*ck) a dev, is even a smaller subset of people. I mean I understand (well sort of) the idea of BIID or pretenders who genuinely want or think they want to be disabled, but for there to be pretenders whose motivation it is, is to screw around with the emotions of a dev, just seems so highly specialized of a shtick or fetish as to almost be humorous. I mean it's like "I'm AB, I could date any AB woman, but instead I'm going to pretend I'm disabled in order to date or mess with an AB woman who's attracted to disabled guys." Wow. I don't think we're their main goal at all. We're just kind of a special challenge. Like if they can "pass" or put one over on one of us then he's done something special. Because we do some research and know some shit. Kinda like cosplaying some very obscure part of comic canon and then running across some geek who knows it all well. WC van/leg bag guy was pretending a variety of things. The main ones being paralysis and singledom. He had been posting on SCI support sites since before he found this place. So, I don't think they're like... hmmm, I'm bored today. Oh! I know, I'll start tricking peeps on a small and obscure corner of the web! I think it's more like someone who's already pretending stumbles across this place and really enjoys the ego boost that devs often give guys here.
