Just to review:
You CANNOT post your story update on the day that another author has already posted or scheduled a post.
You CAN:
Reserve a day in advance, either by scheduling a post for that day or arranging with the other authors to always post on a certain day.
Post multiple chapters of your story on the same day.
Post on any day that is not reserved with a previously scheduled post or one that is already posted. You don't have to check with me first.
In the last nine days, only 4 stories have been posted, so I think we can agree there is enough room for everyone.

You are welcome to post stories here, but as someone noted, if they are multipart stories, it could get complicated. Also, the comments would interrupt the story.

queenkala: Here's why. Say you're an author and you spent hours working on a story you're really excited about. You post it, then an hour later, someone else posts a story, then an hour later, someone else posts yet another story. Now your story is the third on a list, and there are some readers who don't even notice that it's been updated. You get zero comments.
This rule is a courtesy to authors. It's so everyone gets their day to be at the top of the page. Ultimately, we've never had more posts than days of a week, so this isn't keeping anyone from posting. If you like getting them all at once, then just check the blog once a week.

There have been zero posts since Sunday until today (Thursday), so I would say you can pretty much take your pick.

We've gotten a lot of requests from new authors lately to participate in the stories blog, which is a great thing for everyone. The only problem is that it can be a little confusing to learn the rules of posting, and I just don't have time to direct every single new author. I feel bad when I don't approve requests quickly, or am impatient when somebody doesn't understand what to do right away.
I'm looking for somebody who might be able to step up and be a moderator for the stories blog. Your job would be to help new authors learn how to post their stories, make a table contents, and fix any problems that arise in the posting process.
You don't have to be an author on the blog, but you have to be at least relatively tech savvy, familiar with Google blogger, and you have to have enough time to do this. If I ask you to help an author, it can't take you a week to get back to them. You've got to be able to check the blog daily.
Any takers for this glamorous position?

Just a quick comment from the mods:
We are aware of this thread and we don't ban people based on personality. In all honesty, from reading everything, it seems like Ryon was just excited to discover devotees, and he did what typical 24-year-old guys do and made some bad jokes about it on Twitter. When he was discovered, instead of apologizing, which 24-year-old guys are very reluctant to do, he decided to own being an asshole. Obviously, he does not know the history of how we have been attacked and are sensitive about that. But considering he has been attacked by virtually everyone on this board, he actually has not been that awful in his comments. There are people who have been much much worse.
Ryon, I suggest you try to start over and admit that you really want to be here and meet the people on this board. It's something that could change your life for the better.

I suggest you enlist the help of somebody on the board to make a tumblr site. I think it would be fine for us to provide a link to your site once it is made. We just can't host the images on the board. I think it would probably be nicer for you to have them all in one place anyway.

Pro boards will not allow posting images only suitable for adults on this site. Anyone who posts a drawing or photo meant for adults only will receive a warning. And the image will be deleted.

I had to remove the initial post because proboard does not allow pornographic images unless the site is labeled for such, which ours is not.

Yeah, I think we've all mentioned in the past that photos of children are inappropriate, but it's an oversight on our part if it wasn't specifically mentioned in the guidelines. As Inigo said, I think we all just assumed it was obvious. If something like this comes up again, you can also feel free to email the moderators directly before taking the trouble to start a thread and making everyone weigh in.

Yes, it's unfortunate what happened with Jane. One of our talented contributors, Rose, posted a story that Jane felt was plagiarized from her own work. Instead of emailing me privately to point this out, Eleanor and Jane decided to publicly air their grievances and attack Rose on the comments of her story. She essentially wanted me to declare her right, remove the story, and ban Rose.
There may have been some elements that were similar between the beginning of the two stories. As someone who only read janes story once, over a year earlier, there was no way that I could've noticed this. Rose graciously removed her story to end the debate, but Jane decided to "punish" me for not responding to her more quickly by removing all her work from the site.
I think we have an amazing group of authors contributing to the site now. I prefer this group to somebody who is going to create drama and compromise our enjoyment of other stories.

If someone has already posted on the day you want, just date your post for the following day and hit publish. That will "reserve" the date for you.

I never got an email from you about this, Dani. But what DG says is accurate. If you don't know how to change the date, I posted a link on the how to post page of a very basic tutorial on blogger.

I don't know who this Lee fellow is but he sounds really awesome. I wonder if he ends up making the website. Don't leave us in suspense...

Very well said, Lucretia. And Stephen Fry.
Yes, DG and I sometimes have differing opinions on how to moderate this board. But I've known the lady for damn near 15 years now, and I think she has better judgement than I do and she certainly is more in touch with the board, so I always defer to her to make the final decision when we disagree. And she respects me enough to back down when I have a strong opinion.
If Lavly's "fuck you" post is the one that got everyone in an uproar, I have to say, I read it multiple times and I don't consider it bullying. It was an impassioned speech that did use cursing to get her point across. But it seemed to me that her anger was directed more at the issue rather than a particular person. It's a gray area, at best.
If you genuinely feel like you're being bullied, you should let the mods know and we really will take it seriously. But being offended doesn't count as being bullied. I'm sorry.
