Question for dudes who use Freewheel or others who may be familiar with this technology: what PSI do you put your wheel on? I find the instructions and Internet are not helping. I just fill mine up until it feels plump, which was about 50 last time I think. But I’m thinking I want to fill it up more. I do my back wheels at 100, and this is for use over shitty pavement that is littered with debris. Question for devs: Freewheel— sexy, not sexy, or don’t give a shit? Mine says to pump it up to 40 PSI.

I find this slightly hilarious that this topic came up. It has been a major source of contention in my house. Being an amputee I tend to run hot, I attribute it to not having as much surface area for heat to escape. I also always preferred sleeping in the cold, and you can't forget to have a fan or two on. When talking with potential women to date, during the first phone call I like to lay out all my red flags and deal-breakers. One of them is asking what temperature they prefer to sleep in.
In dealing with couples that have different temperature preferences I would say it is always possible to put on more clothes to stay warm, but you can only take off so much to stay cool. In my experience, someone is going to get sick of the other getting their way and throw a rebellion at some point though.

Are there any disabled veteran members? I was injured on Dec. 7th, 2005 in Ramadi on my third deployment. How were you injured if you don't mind me asking? Where did you get treated at? I was hit by an IED and did most of my surgeries at Bethesda, then transferred to Walter Reed and did prosthetic stuff there until the prosthetic department at Balboa opened up.

I was listening to a podcast the other day that had me thinking differently the other day. In short, cops have no legal requirement to protect you. Basically, they can sit there and watch someone murder you and they will face no consequence for it. It went all the way to the supreme court and was upheld by a 7-2 vote. That being said, most cops will go above and beyond to fulfill their perceived duty.

I had been playing some Warzone with friends online, but we all kind of got bored with that. Since then I've been playing F1 2020, to coincide with becoming a new F1 fan. Wonk I heard you're the man to talk to about that.

I realize there is a taboo about hanging out or god forbid even dating in the same crowd as an ex. I just was listening to some Dan Savage the other day and someone called in asking about the need to tell a friend that she had hooked up one night with an ex of her's from college. I was thinking to myself, hell no, she'll be pissed. Dan however brought up an interesting point, this problem only exists in straight people land where there is a plethora of other straight people groups that are all generally attracted to the same shit. He then said in "Gay Land" this moral problem doesn't exist. The dating pool is so limited that everyone is dating everyone. I would argue that the female dev/disabled male ratio is even smaller. If I could edit what Dan said I would say this problem should only exist in "straight able-bodied land."
If there is some other place where female devs congregate that isn't wheeler connect, (which I have given up in the dev forum custody battle) please let me know. I am capable of conducting myself in a mature non-offensive manner, at least in regards to potentially touchy relationship topoics. If you are on team Emma, by all means honor your side in whatever way you want. I realize that no one is really on my team, because I have been the married guy that was off limits, don't really post anything anymore and now I may just seem like a cold hearted prick.
If it puts you guys at ease, I am already currently dating someone. I am not solely on here for finding a female dev, I am pretty sure I would be the first one to tell you that being a devotee doesn't automatically make you a match for whomever you are attracted to, but it doesn't hurt.
I know this isn't a dating site, but just the nature of the forum and whatever two consenting adults agree to, kind of makes this dating site from time to time. I would like to message with some other people that have been/going through similar circumstances, or ignore me, that is your choice.
Oh and Steve, can you just picture a meme of "The Dude" saying "like, that's just your opinion Man."

I can't say I am nearly the illusion master that Oz was, just trying to be clever.
Due to "life's events" that I won't air out in public, I have decided it is best to come out of the shadows. Emma and I have been separated for over a year now, we are open to date others now as well. Because of our current situation I am not looking for anything serious, but having someone to chat with would help with the current circumstance I am now in.
I hope this doesn't sound overly callous, I feel if I keep reading it again and again it will never get posted, and I just feel like it needs to happen.

So I have to come defend the guy about the "it works comment." After I was injured and back on the dating scene, I was asked a lot if it was still even there, along with if it worked. I remember having a conversation about how hard it was for her to ask that. It was a long conversation, but it boiled down to she almost didn't want to go on a date, until I made it clear she could ask any personal questions that may be embarrassing. After that I had my own version of saying everything works. I think it was something like "my legs got blown off, but nothing else."
I know that may not be all that important to all devs, but for guy's cocks that are working, it is kind of a big deal.

Interesting, that actual veterans seem to avoid that topic ( @legoless , right? ) and find another lie, however non-veterans like to say they are. I can't say that it happens at a very high rate. I was asked today by the lady that cut my hair, and don't really have to go into detail, I can just say I was in the Marines and was injured in Iraq. I don't really feel like I'm living out the whole event. People that get the whole story are people that I am either stuck next to for a while (like on a plane). Or people that I am going to see on a regular basis and they care to ask. Now that I think about it, I never freely give that information, it always has to be asked for.

Maybe this is weird but I'm not into the "telling lies" on how you got hurt and ended up in a chair...is it an issue to just tell the truth? I don't know, something about it throws me off. Also, why would a AB/PWD couple lie on how they met? If the dev thing is an issue, yeah, you could say something like "we met online", don't have to be specific that it was a disabiltiy dating site or anything if there is concern about the dev thing being outed. Also, like for example I feel it's a bit strange to lie and say something about having been injured in war or something, it seems like an insult to veterans who have actually gotten hurt in combat or wars...maybe I'm just sensitive in that matter because I have been around military for so long. I tell my lies to little little kids, because they just don't comprehend what it means to be, "blown up by a bomb" or understand what a war is. I tell my absurd lies, just to get a laugh, the truth gets told sometime after the laugh. I also sometimes avoid admitting that I am a veteran. I am not always in the mood to be hassled, and be the target of someone trying to make themselves feel better. Lying about being a veteran thing is only bad if you're trying to benefit more than just a free beer at a bar. I would think you're a bit of a tool if you used that solely, but if some jerk just assumes you're a veteran, go ahead and tell a whale of a lie. For example (the Navy Corpsman I was injured with told a nurse that he bicycle kicked an RPG out of the air to save the convoy, and she believed it).

I've had a few different ones I've cycled through before:
To little kids, I might use the "I didn't eat my vegetables as a kid." line.
I had a general going around asking a bunch of Marines real quick how they ended up in the hospital. I just said real quick "jump roping accident."
Another line I like is just seeing anyone doing anything that there is a chance of them getting hurt and saying "be careful, that's how I lost my legs."

I just realized I am apart of an online NBA2k20 league has 10 people in it and only one of them is AB.

RTS with voice-activated software. That sounds tricky. Are you like a auctioneer or something?

Hello! I have honestly never liked watching sports, not either as an able-bodied (I am a former 800 metres runner). Now I enjoy a lot doing handcycling...I guess it is worth a check. I work out everyday, because I'm doing my best to be able to take as many medals I can from the Italians' hands, but I think it can give a lot also when doing it just for fun. Bye bye Another former track guy, awesome. I ran an 800 once (in 9th grade and almost died). I later ran a 600 indoors when I was running for Boise State, that was my max distance I could spring at before my legs turned to jelly. My bread and butter was the hurdles, 110's and 400's. Now my main sport is wheelchair basketball. There is a great league here in the States, 3 adult co-ed divisions, 1 women's adult division, 3 kid divisions, and a college division. I play for the San Diego Wolfpack. We are primarily a military team, but we fill in our roster with low point civilians. We travel quite a bit, I think we are going to Cleveland, Dallas, Phoenix, Grand Rapids MI, Washington D.C. and nationals is in Wichita. I still prefer watching able-bodied sports over para sports, but if I will go out of my way to watch a match-up of the top ranked wheelchair basketball teams going head to head.

Oh man, we have another video game thread. I know half the devs are rolling their eyes at this, especially one in particular. I have more damn games in my Steam library than I think I will ever get around to playing, not so much in my Origin account. You'll find me shuffling through 4 primary game types. 4Skyrim/Fallout 4 games, Strategy/ (currently Planetary Annihilation, but too many to name them all. Have nearly all the Total Wars WarHammer 2 is my current fave. I did see Starcraft being mentioned, I highly recommend Starcraft2 and all the extra parts to it.) Battlefield Franchise/War Thunder. Bunch of games by EA Sports, currently in the NBA2K stint right now. Once in a while I venture out and something new catches my eye. I primarily hang out in the single player world, but do some MMO here and there.
