I tend to think that if a PWD is aware of devs and they catch my initial reaction, they will know. The grocery store para I talk about on PD-I think he knows that I am into men who utilize chairs. I say this just because of several interactions we have had in the grocery store have appeared so deliberate on both ends. And, when he asked me to help him with something once-I almost passed out LOL 😝😂. Good to know, haha. I have never thought of anyone acting that way around me because of attraction. That is, until I found Paradevo.

I feel like there should be some dev brand recognition like a logo or something while out in the "wild." That way if I'm out pushing my cart full of baby food I can say hello if I spot the dev crest across the chest...say that three times.

quadversation - too bad you're on the dark (baby food) side but still, PLEASE always say hello to the devs out there! I'll happily wear a dev crest across the chest so that insiders could recognize me by.

Also, the tripping and almost falling into a lap could be an indicator too (true story).

Well I'll have to make sure to move my man-bag from my lap and onto the back of my chair then

I feel like this is such a shame and that both parties are stuck in some sort of limbo because as far as I'm aware( please correct me if I'm wrong) most dev's are very nervous to approach a pwd in fear of rejection or the pwd being creeped out (this is not applicable to me by the way) my quad arms are open wide to any female Dev that would be my usual type. I also think this is applicable to any pwd who is to approach someone who they think maybe a dev in fear of being wrong or again rejection. Maybe this is just a confidence thing that happens to everyone in the "normal"dating world? As I remember before I was a Wheeler, that I still used to get nervous in those situations anyway. I did however have a brainwave the other day to cure this problem with an app very similar to tinder but called DEV-OTED. Do we have any app developers who would like to take on this challenge? and would dev's and pwds be interested in using such a thing?

That’s a great idea! I think there are already disabled dating apps around but they are very poorly programmed. If someone was here who would be able to develop an app, similar to tinder with distances to each other and stuff like that, that would be just perfect. I’d be in for a fundraiser. And if the app was well programmed, I’m sure that people would pay for it, too.

I would love to take on such a project but I just haven't got the the faintest idea of where to start in that area I am a bit of a dinosaur when it comes to technology unfortunately. If there is anyone who is able to do such a thing we should definitely make a group and make it happen

I think I interacted with my first dev NOT on the board... which I would consider a dev in the wild. Was pretty awesome.. and I'll say this about her.. once she found out I was engaged she was super respectful.. you don't always encounter that.

Was pretty awesome.. and I'll say this about her.. once she found out I was engaged she was super respectful.. you don't always encounter that. How did you know she was? Did she flirt with you? Did she tell you how attractive you were? It must have been interesting. Started off like it was going that way... and then she started discussing how one of her most impactful boyfriends she's ever had was a wheelchair user.... then she kind of coyly or shyly brought up the fact that because of him she's been attracted to guys in chairs. Then I started poking down that path of questions until I outright asked her.. would you call yourself a dev then? To which she answered.. yeah that's the right word for it. Talked about how my fiancé is the only woman I've really let my guard down with when it comes to my legs.. we had a moment recently that reaffirmed that. She talked about hers... so in mentioning Kate and how amazing she is.. etc.. etc.. she was really respectful about it after that. Told her I would throw some names her way of PWD's here in CO that I'm friends with and acquainted with. There really is an unusually high number of bad ass paras and quads here.. although a lot of them are starting to pair off.. meh. But it was a unique encounter. She was extremely attractive. Don't think that's disrespectful to your partner to recognize the aesthetic beauty in another person.. I mean no one is sexy like Kate is.. but there are plenty of beautiful people out there.

Okay, we get it IcarusFellOnce you're taken. Maybe you could invite your fiance Kate over here so she can also talk about how irrestistible you are. I think everyone should now talk about how sexy and hot their partners/wives/husbands are...

I think everyone should now talk about how sexy and hot their partners/wives/husbands are... There`s something to learn from that encounter, and I`m parroting myself with this, but growing some balls is mandatory for things like this to happen; She had some. No neon lights or secret handshakes needed. It comes with a risk of being rejected, judged, whatever, but that`s how that shit works.
